Announcing Ghost Writers, a safe space to share your story anonymously
Here's your chance.
We all have that story that’s burning us up inside, yearning to be shared — but for reasons, we feel that we can’t. Maybe it involves people in your life that you don’t want to expose or embarrass, or maybe you’re experimenting creatively and you don’t want it to affect your professional reputation in another sphere.
I’m a big fan of authenticity, but sometimes being authentic to ourselves means having to hide our connection to certain work we’ve written from other people. That’s just the way this messy life works sometimes.
So, without further ado, I’m announcing a new section of Golden Thread Farm’s Substack called Ghost Writers, ready to publish your anonymous submissions.
Here’s how it works:
Email me your piece at ghostwriters-submission@proton.me
Let me know if you want to use your own fun pen name, otherwise I’ll just list the author as Anonymous
If you don’t want me to know it’s you, you can use a burner email address
I plan to post a maximum of one piece per week, depending on how many submissions come in. This is really experimental at this point, so I’ll be figuring it out as we go.
Some ground rules:
I’m all for freedom of expression, so basically anything is cool as long as it’s not hateful or threatening or something that violates Substack terms. Yep, even the spicier stuff that you’ve been secretly writing is welcome here.
I’ll be monitoring any comments that come in. There will be rules for common decency from readers.
I reserve the right to add or change ground rules as things evolve.
For subscribers:
Ghost Writers is a section within Golden Thread Farm, so you’ll have to subscribe to it separately to get emails, and it will publish under its own tab on my site. I had the option to automatically sign all my subscribers up for it, but I didn’t want anyone to feel like they were being signed up for something they didn’t consent to. Here’s the link: https://goldenthreadfarm.substack.com/s/ghostwriters.
Hopefully this will be a helpful service for my fellow creatives and community of readers. Message me directly with any questions!

Cass, I tried to sign up to receive Ghost Writers, but the link you gave doesn't seem to work. I would suggest that you send the first Ghost Writers post to everyone, with a link to opt in to further posts.
I like this, but I’m curious as to why you decided to do open a space like this? It could go either way, and just how ‘spicy’ are you hoping for?❤️🤣
